International Musicians To Star In Noosa

E-mail Print PDF

International pianist, Kayo Asahina, and clarinettist Chitaru Asahina, conductor of the Kobe Philharmonic Orchestra, will present a one-off diverse performance of the romantics in the glorious atrium at beautiful ‘Mykonos’ in Sunshine Beach.

Both Kayo and Chitaru hail from Kyoto in Japan, where they share illustrious musical careers. Renowned for their talent as classical musicians, the pair will perform the Romantics, plus Japan’s beloved “Sakura, Sakura” – The Cherry Blossom song.

"Even though they have travelled the world, performing on the world stage, Kayo and Chitaru have had a love affair with Noosa for many years.” said Meg Lawrence Chairman of the Noosa Federation of the Arts.

“They have been instrumental in bringing Japanese culture in its many forms here for our enjoyment, including the Lun Lun Choir 20 voices belonging to an executive business-womens club, the 22 Flutes of Japan, the Flute Concord Hiroshima.  It is through them that one of our Rotary Clubs has a connection with Sumoto on the island of Iwajishima.

They are musical icons in their own country (Chitaru's father, a famous conductor, was made a National Treasure by the Emperor and Empress) and they will be giving our last house concert for 2009 in the iconic setting of ‘Mykonos’ in Sunshine Beach. "

Come and relax to a serenade of exquisite music in a unique environment. There is a limit of 60 persons so bookings are essential. There is a complimentary drink on arrival, cash bar and nibbles.
