Lipman Harp DuoInternationally renowned Harpists Sebastien and Sayo Lipman will perform an intimate concert in Noosa on Saturday March 13 hosted by Noosa Federation of the Arts (NFA).

Taking place on the rooftop of the Noosa Blue Resort, this unique performance will blend the angelic sound of two harps with the setting sun.

“It will be a truly romantic evening of music. There is something mesmerising about two harps being played in unison,” said Meg Lawrence, NFA Chairman.

Sebastien Lipman is a former Solo Harpist from The Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and his wife Sayo was prize winner of the Japan International Harp Competition.

Their NFA performance will include both transcriptions as well as original works.

“Interestingly, Sebastien’s first ever Australian concert was here in Noosa for the NFA. Back then we held events at the Beach Club on Hastings Street.

“It was actually during that concert Sebastien saw his first koala. It was sitting in a tree outside the venue, enjoying the music I assume,” Meg said.

The ‘Two Harps at Sunset’ concert will be the NFA’s first major fundraiser for 2010, with proceeds going towards the Dame Joan Sutherland Award, a major national cultural competition hosted by the NFA, now held bi-annually.

The NFA has been bringing internationally acclaimed artists to Noosa since 1989 and prides itself on being able to offer its audience an intimate and high quality musical experience.

Tickets for the ‘Two Harps at Sunset’ performance are $55 for non-members or $50 for members, including complimentary champagne at sunset and canapés under the stars.
