Ever a mover and shaker, it looks like Noosa Federation of Arts founder and president Meg Lawrence has made history by initiating and financing what is being touted as the world's first biosphere film.
When people pondered the meaning of biosphere Ms Lawrence was simply not prepared to sit back.
Instead she took it on herself to use the medium of film to get the message across.
The film, directed by Peregian resident and former New York advertising man Richard McCarthy with the script written by Stan May and Richard McCarthy, was premiered at The J last Friday morning.
It is narrated by Rockcote founder and sustainability proponent Bob Cameron, who, in a khaki-clad outfit, references the down-to-earth Aussie style of Hoges (Paul Hogan).
Sporting a brown slouch hat, he stands ankle deep in the ocean.
With a background of perfect blue sky and crystal clear water, Cameron is the link between the biosphere's physical attributes and its sophisticated cultural performances.
"The biosphere is more than creeks, trees, birds and bees - it's us living in nature," Ms Lawrence said.
